The Message Arthur Never Saw

Elena placed Martin’s sealed envelope inside the locked cabinet in the pantry office, planning to hand it to Arthur herself.

That night, she discovered the cabinet open.

The envelope was gone.

Victoria denied knowing anything about it.

Elena did not argue.

Instead, she called Martin from the kitchen phone and told him the letter had disappeared.

Martin sounded alarmed.

He explained that someone had submitted paperwork claiming Arthur wanted to restructure parts of the family trust.

The request had not come through Arthur’s usual channels.

Martin had refused to proceed until speaking with him directly.

Elena asked him to send a copy electronically to Arthur’s office.

Before he could answer, Victoria entered the kitchen.

Elena ended the call.

Victoria smiled faintly.

Victoria: You are becoming very curious for an employee.

Elena understood the danger, but she also knew something important now: Victoria was running out of time.
