Warmth Returns To Whitman Mansion
Several weeks passed.
The legal dispute surrounding Victoria continued outside the mansion, but inside the Whitman home, life began to heal.
Arthur reduced his travel schedule and started taking Leo to school himself whenever he could.
He also asked Martin to review every part of Leo’s inheritance so nothing could be altered without proper protection.
Elena remained at the mansion, though Arthur insisted she was far more than an employee to the family.
One bright Saturday morning, Leo sat near the bottom of the same curved staircase where the trouble had begun.
His little race car rolled across the marble.
This time, he laughed when it crashed gently into Elena’s shoe.
Elena: That driver needs more practice.
Leo: Dad says we can build a bigger track after breakfast.
Arthur appeared from the dining room carrying three plates of pancakes.
Arthur: Chocolate chips. I was told that’s the official house recipe.
Leo grinned.
The mansion was still enormous, still luxurious, and still filled with long silent halls.
But they no longer felt cold.
Elena had risked her place in the home to speak when silence would have been easier.
Because she did, Arthur learned the truth before Victoria could take control of Leo’s future.
And Leo finally understood something he had desperately needed to know.
He was not alone.
