Rhett Akins’ Son & Famous Friends Celebrate His Opry Induction With “That Ain’t My Truck” Sing-Along

By Miranda Raye on Oct 15, 2026 at 12:06 pm CDT On Tuesday, October 13, Rhett Akins became the newest member of the Grand Ole Opry. His induction ceremony was held on an already special day, his 57th birthday! Opry members Jamey Johnson and Jon Pardi inducted Rhett into country music’s most iconic “family” that evening. It was sort of a full-circle moment, as Jon had been the artist to extend the Opry invitation to Rhett four months earlier. Several of Rhett’s famous friends joined him in singing “That Ain’t My Truck,” turning the moment into a fun ’90s country sing-along. Jon and Jamey stuck around, and Luke Bryan and Jason Aldean also jumped in. The group was joined by another special person in Rhett’s life…his son, Thomas Rhett , who’s also a country artist. Thomas had only been five years old when “That Ain’t My Truck” was released, and he’s now 36. Tune in to the video below to watch Thomas Rhett, Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Jon Pardi, and Jamey Johnson sing “That Ain’t My Truck” with Rhett Akins at the Opry.
